Arken ARK-B 900 N5: Powering Large-Scale Operations

Overview

The Arken ARK-B 900 N5 is a 910 kVA standby diesel generator set for organisations that need substantial, reliable power for high-demand operations. Its three-phase electrical configuration operates at 400 V and 50 Hz, while the Baudouin 8M33G900/5 engine and NEKRA ARK 6D alternator form the core power package.

As a new 2024 machine, it is suited to contractors, rental companies, industrial facilities, agricultural operations, data centres and major events. The available operating power supports equipment loads and backup systems where continuity of electricity is essential.

Standby and prime ratings

With 910 kVA standby power (ESP) and 825 kVA prime power (PRP), this generator offers two clearly defined operating bases. Standby power is the headline rating and is intended for emergency or standby duty. Prime power supports longer operating periods in typical prime applications.

Users should select the operating profile according to their duty requirements rather than relying on a single power figure. This distinction helps prevent the generator from being assigned to loads beyond its intended duty class.

Fuel and runtime considerations

The integrated fuel tank holds 1500 L. Recorded fuel consumption varies with load: 89.6 L/h at 50% PRP, 129.7 L/h at 75% load, 174.2 L/h at 100% PRP and 193.4 L/h at 110% ESP.

These figures provide a practical basis for planning refuelling intervals, site logistics and operating schedules. Actual consumption will depend on load conditions and the selected duty profile.

Silent enclosure and installation

The silent enclosure helps reduce the generator's environmental impact in occupied or professional settings. Noise is measured at 88 dB(A) at 7 metres.

The generator dimensions are 4316 × 1979 × 2346 mm, with a total weight of 6587 kg. For the silent canopy version, the advisor lists overall dimensions of 5800 × 2260 × 2482 mm, excluding silencer, and a dry weight of 8617 kg. Transport, positioning and access planning should therefore be addressed before delivery.

Control and remote operation

The standard Trans-AMF IP65 front panel provides local operating control in a protected enclosure format. An optional DSE controller with CanBus J1939 is available for projects requiring an alternative control configuration.

Further equipment includes a battery charger, engine coolant heater, remote start/auto function, emergency stop, event logger and RS-485 communications. GPRS and thermographic protection add monitoring and protection capabilities, while the supplied documentation and manuals support operation and maintenance.
